Meeting Dina In Person

with DinaIt was my second time traveling to Singapore to attend workshops since I've started belly dancing. The first time was dated back in 2007 when I attended Prof. Hassan's, Nuriyya's and Jenna's workshops at the 3rd Ahlamy Belly Dance Festival with Shee Loo and Conny. This year I was back in Singapore again to attend Dina's workshops. And yes! That was the famous Dina from Egypt. Hadia had advised me to learn from Dina if I get the chance and without any hesitation, I grabbed it. Smile

So Ya So - Mohammed Mounir

Just yesterday I added a new dance routine into my Beginner-Beginner (Level 1) class with the song "So Ya So" by Mohammed Mounir. This routine consists of some basic belly dance techniques to help them learn and drill the techniques in preparation to learning a performance choreography at the end of the level. The song is simple, fun and easy to dance to.

To take a listen to the song, please go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxu7n9J6_Bk. However, the version I have is a little different. It's without the techno stuffs in the beginning. Smile

Dad Hospital Log - Day 4 & 5

Day 4

We were there early in the morning, hoping that dad's condition improved and we'll hear some good news from the surgeon. We were hopeful because, dad's fever was under controlled and his blood pressure was normal. A good sign. After waited for almost 2 hours, we finally got to meet the surgeon and indeed, it was all good news. Now, the risky surgery could be put on hold. And the nicest thing that we heard from the surgeon was, "it's looking good, you can be discharged. But let's monitor it for another day and you can go back tomorrow." You can't imagine the relieve on our faces! Dad was so happy and talked alot, unlike the last few days. I quickly sms my brother and told him the good news.

Dad Hospital Log - Day 2 & 3

Day 2

After the long day yesterday and with dad safely recuperating at the hospital, we decided to get a good rest to replenish all the lack of sleep we had, and made it to the hospital only around noon. Dad looked alright but seemed to have some slight fever. Dad's doctor came around in the morning and told him that he had arranged for the surgeon to meet us today but never said what time. So, it was waiting time at the hospital but we couldn't stay long because I have classes to teach that day, so we left early, hoping to come back after my class at night to see him again.
