Do you know that there is a Belly Dance Competition this Saturday, 2nd May 2009 in Penang? I only got to know about it last 2 weeks. It was too short notice for me to do anything, but I know a few of my friends will be competing in this event. I'm interested to go watch them compete and hopefully, I can take some photos for them.

The World Belly Dance Day 2009, the biggest belly dance event in Penang, is making a come back this year with participation from more countries. This year you will be able to see dancers from Philipines, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia and their VIP star, Sadie from USA. And their beneficiary for this year is Sam Cheng Everloving Care Welfare Society.

The entry ticket of RM120 (with dinner included) is slightly more expensive as compared to the previous year, but, it is nothing compared to extensive programs that has been prepared for you by the organizer, the Zero Fitness Dance Studio.

This year the event is scheduled on the 3rd Saturday of May (16 May), instead of the 2nd Saturday (9 May) for the charity dinner and workshops with Sadie from 17th - 18th May.

A friend of mine asked me to help her choreograph a dance for her wedding. I was searching high and low for a song suitable for the wedding and found Agmal Haga (The Most Beautiful Thing) by Salah Sharnoubi.

I have the habit of finding the song's lyrics in English, before I start choreographing. And when I look at the lyrics of this song, I am absolutely sure that this is the right song for the occasion! It expresses love and affection and I find it's the best thing a wife could give to her husband on the wedding day.

I'll be adding a new category called Lyrics into my blog to share the lyrics of the songs that I've used for my performances and choreographies. I hope it will help some of you out there that has a similar interest.

I may be starting a new beginner class at iFitness Centre, Bayan Point, every Saturday at 2pm. Many friends and people told me that my class at 8.15am is too early! Many people are either working or sleeping at this time. Hahaha! I think people would rather sleep than forcing themselves to wake up early, after a long tiring week at work. Hehehe.. I think I would do the same too! Believe me, I'm not a morning person too, but.. I don't mind doing it for my students.. hehehe..

So, for those who couldn't make it in the morning, you can try to join me at 2pm, Saturday. The class is now opened for registration and will start when there are enough students.

I received a forwarded email from a friend today on a very beautiful waterfall in Kedah. The photos are really very nice, that, I forwarded it to CK, telling him that I want to go there for my birthday!

After I did that, I thought of, going into the web to check out information on this place, like where I can stay, what are the things that I can do there, etc, to find out that, it is actually a fake! There is no such waterfall in Kedah! The nice photos that I saw is actually in Croatia and is a place called Plitvicka Jezera National Park and definitely not Sg Jagong and not in Kedah!

All of us has been tricked by whomever that started this prank! So, friends, stop forwarding this email when you see it coming into your mailbox. We must stop this, asap!

I remember it was after Chinese New Year or somewhere in February this year, when we received a leaflet on a multifunctional laptop stand by a local Penang company in our mailbox. CK has been looking around to find a sturdy portable table that we can bring about in the house when he is working on his laptop. And it felt like his need has been answered when we saw the leaflet.

I had a chance to learn from a performer, master instructor and choreographer, Hadia from Canada last March, 2009. It was my first formal teacher training course, a hole in my pocket, but well spent.
