Sometimes it is not enough to do our best; we must do what is required.

Experimenting With New Recipe

Tried a new recipe from a recipe book this week! It was a chicken with pineapple and cashews. This dish is quite common, but not being a regular cook and still very green at it, I felt happy that the resulted dish was well over my expectation! Smile . CK can be the judge of it. He really loved it! Laughing .

However, I did made some minor adjustments to the recipe. I did not put in all the ingredients and I skipped a step by buying an already roasted cashews to save time. hahaha.. Things that I left out were chilies, pineapples, spring onions and shredded coconut.

It was quite easy to cook. The ingredients that I had include, green & red capsicum, cashew nuts, garlic, large yellow onion, chicken, oyster sauce, fish sauce and sugar.

The cooking started with heating up the oil and stir-fry the garlic and onion over medium heat until the aroma came out. These took about 2 minutes. Remove these from the wok. Then I actually add a little more oil and increase the heat. Put in the chicken & the capsicums, added a little water, oyster sauce, fish sauce and sugar. Once the chicken is cooked, I returned the fried garlic & onion, added the cashews, stirred and done!
