When Shee Loo invited me to join her in the dance, I thought that it would be interesting to try out other dance besides belly dancing. Furthermore, it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to get to dance on a big stage like Dewan Sri Pinang and to a live band! So.. why not?
The training was difficult! But from there, I learned to appreciate belly dancing more, as, it is so much easier and less strenuous compared to the dance we're doing. My body felt odd sometimes and I need to put more energy into each moves as it had to be powerful and swift. Something which I'm not that used to.. I even twisted my ankle in the process and had to get it fixed by a Chinese physician.. But, luckily, I still managed to continue the dance and practice.. Just a tiny glitch along the way.. hahaha..
One other difficult task that we needed to do was for us to look sexy and dangerous while we danced! Believe me, you wouldn't want to see how we practiced in the mirror!! We looked so so weird that, we always had a good laugh at ourselves!
I really hope that the audience enjoyed our dance that night. With so many of us that were inexperience in this genre of dance (except Shee Loo, of course), we hoped that we could pull it off gracefully.
It sure was a great experience and I'm not sure whether there will be such opportunities in the future, but, one thing is sure.. I will always remember that I was once a Bond Girl, thanks to Shee Loo!
Here are some of my favourite photos! See how cool we were! Hahaha..
