I have been searching for Minlon Crochet thread colour code 26 since May this year. I was doing a crochet project for my mom, as a gift. It is a poncho. As usual, I went with my mom to buy my favourite crochet thread of the brand Minlon in Kamdar, Bkt Jambul Penang. She chose the colour light brown which have the colour code 26 and I happily bought a pack which consists of 4 balls.

The project started. Half way through, I realised that 4 balls are not enough. I went back to Kamdar. Unfortunate for me, they only have 1 ball left! I asked whether they would order new ones but the salesgirl told me that they have stopped ordering new threads. They're only trying to clear existing stocks! What a disappointment to me. I was their ardent buyer of crochet threads! Main reason is of course, they sell the cheapest! . One ball.. hmm.. I hope it is enough. But it is NOT!!

So, my search for the Minlon 26 begins. Went to every shop that I know of. Yes, they sell thread but not Minlon! Nevermind, maybe other brand is ok also. I was hoping that the thread texture may be different but hopefully it is not that noticeable. But I was wrong! The colour is too different! They are light brown but the shade is still very different. Sigh..

Arrgh! I have finished 3 quarters of the poncho. I do not want to re-do!

Being the stubborn Taurean that I am, I continue my search. Recently, I followed my husband back to Segamat, Johor. We went for a Minlon 26 hunt! Segamat is a small town, we walked particularly everywhere! Finally! We saw a shop that sells Minlon threads! The shop owner even have a colour code book for us to show him the colour we want. I was thrilled! He sent his assistant to the store to search for the thread. I was waiting eagerly. But when the assistant came out. He said, out of stock! Bummer! What a let down! The owner told us that he would only be able to get fresh new stocks next week. But by that time, we're already back in Penang. So... there goes the Minlon 26.. sigh.. A positive side of this is, now, I know where I could get a Minlon thread from. Although, it is far away in Segamat.

Now, everywhere I go, I will try to find time to go search for my Minlon 26. I hope I will be able to find it one day.. sob, sob.

P/S: It may be too late, but I'm in KL now at Jalan Conlay. Anyone knows where I can find shops that sell crochet threads, nearby? Maybe, I will go for a short hunt later. Pavilion, perhaps? Nah..don't think they have.
